Problem

Three years ago Entrepreneurs’ Organization sought an outside partner to help assess, stabilize, and optimize its existing technology network. EO also sought to determine whether its network management should continue as insourced or move to an outsourced solution. The organization needed a firm experienced in nonprofit work—one that could handle the global needs of its network, was budget friendly, and had the support team in place to provide universal performance and availability to all 60 countries where its members are based.

Solution

After conducting internet research, seeking referrals, and a careful vetting process, Entrepreneurs’ Organization decided to partner with SysArc to provide managed IT services for its network managed services and to fulfill its cyber security needs.

Result

SysArc helped Entrepreneurs’ Organization to put a comprehensive plan for network stabilization, performance, and growth in place. Chief Technology Officer of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization, Marianne Moss, says one of the biggest benefits it has received from working with SysArc is having access to the team’s knowledge base and exposure to its breadth of experience with associations and other clients. This has helped EO staff make more informed decisions, remain current on technology trends, and remain proactive instead of reactive. The organization is now able to focus on its digital transformation strategy with confidence, knowing that SysArc is maintaining security, performance, and availability.

Problem

The National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA) was handling all of its IT needs in-house. But when its webmaster left, the organization was faced with the challenge of continuing to manage and maintain its IT infrastructure while experiencing a huge issue with backup and recovery. In 2007, it began seeking an outside partner to help manage its IT operations in a more secure, cost-effective way.

Solution

Initially, NCURA selected another managed services company. But after working together for a short period of time, the organization wasn’t satisfied. NCURA didn’t want a firm that offered cookie cutter options—it needed a customized and proactive plan of action. After hearing about SysArc through a referral, NCURA found the firm to be extremely personable, knowledgeable, and trustworthy with flat-rate services that were affordable and easy to navigate. NCURA and SysArc began their partnership in 2008 and for nearly 10 years, SysArc has been providing the organization with managed IT, network and security, IT support, and hardware advisory services.

Result

Latasha Johnson, NCURA’s Senior Manager and Database Administrator, says that SysArc has been instrumental in making sure that the organization has what it needs. Any one of her colleagues can contact SysArc to receive expert support and knowledge, and with its flat rate pricing she never has to worry about staying within a certain number of hours. With SysArc’s expert consultation, NCURA decided to move two major systems outside of its own network (its database and website), significantly cutting down on time consuming updates and maintenance. SysArc also helps NCURA remain proactive by keeping the organization informed when something is wrong and not vice versa. Johnson says that SysArc gives her peace of mind knowing that NCURA’s systems are backed up, secure, and up-to-date with the latest industry standards and allows her to focus her time on moving vital projects forward.

Problem

In Spring of 2011, Public Affairs Support Services (PASS) was looking for an external partner to provide managed IT services and network maintenance. The company had outgrown its current provider and was looking for an expert that could handle the size of the organization and had depth in talent and expertise with extremely responsive customer support.

Solution

PASS’ IT Director conducted research on companies providing managed services in the Reston, Virginia area. The company narrowed its search down and interviewed three different firms. After meeting with SysArc, PASS decided the firm was the right size and fit to provide managed IT, network maintenance, and backup disaster and recovery services to the organization.

Result

PASS’ President and Chief Executive Officer, Vinnie Tallman, says it hired SysArc with high expectations. Not only have those expectations been met but they’ve been exceeded. SysArc’s helpdesk is extremely responsive and its remote capabilities have made the troubleshooting process easier and more efficient for all parties. PASS has also seen a definite decrease in downtime since it started working with SysArc. According to Tallman, the biggest advantage has been knowing that it can rely on SysArc to not only manage its network but also to benefit from the firm’s extended IT knowledge base and expertise. Over the past six months, SysArc has helped PASS enhance its network and implement additional cyber security measures. This has ultimately helped PASS adapt to client demands and become a more secure, efficient organization.
